Illustrators' Associations
All of the organizations listed below provide a service to the arts industry and provide members with opportunities to meet others in their field. Additional benefits are listed below. Further information may be found at their websites.
The Guild of Natural Science Illustrators (see below) is the association for scientific illustrators. Membership is inexpensive and recommended for artists in this field. Of the remaining associations listed, choose those that are specific to the type of work you do or that offer specific services of benefit to you. Generally-speaking, the more specific to your work the organization is, the more its information and opportunities will help you along your path; the more general the organization is, the more likely it will be to bring clients to you.
American Society of Architectural Illustrators

American Society of Botanical Illustrators: Membership includes a link from their website
to yours and subscription to the newsletter, The Botanical Artist. " The Botanical Artist provides timely information about botanical art courses, exhibits, and galleries that specialize in botanical art. It regularly features personal essays, interviews, book reviews, and profiles of institutions that support botanical art."

American Watercolor Society: Membership includes subscription to the Society's semi-annual publication and a listing of your name in the annual catalog.

Assocation Européenes des Illustrateurs Médicaux et Scientifiques
The Association of Medical Illustrators: Membership includes listing in the AMI directory, subscription to the quarterly Journal of Biocommunication and subscription to the bimonthly newsletter.

The Colored Pencil Society of America: Membership includes subscription to the Society's publication.

The Guild of Natural Science Illustrators: Membership includes a newsletter listing of upcoming activities and meetings and discount on purchase of Guild publications. Also see the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators' (GNSI) e-mail discussion list and its archives.

The Graphic Artists Guild: Membership includes subscription to the Guild's newsletter, favorable rates on group health insurance plans, one GAG publication of your choice, and linking to your website from the Guild's.

National Watercolor Society: Membership includes subscription to the NWS Newsletter, listing in the catalog of the annual exhibition, and free Annual Exhibition catalog.

Pastel Society of America: Membership includes subscription to the Society's newsletters, the Pastelagram and the Alert, and a listing of your bio with samples of your art on the Society's website.

Society of Animal Artists: Membership includes subscription to the Society's magazine, newsletters and annual exhibition catalogs and a link to your website from the Society's website.
