About frog cell division:
The male frog's sperm fertilizes the female frog's eggs. The female frog lays a gelatinous cluster of eggs (zygotes) on plant material under water. The egg is initially a single cell. It divides to become the two sides of the body. The division of the cells is referred to as "cleavage", the number of cells doubling each time cleavage occurs, progressing through stages referred to as: morula, blastula, early and late gastrula. Gradually the tadpole is differentiated through DNA replication and mitosis.
