About conches:
Per Wikipedia, "Conches have spirally constructed shells. This spiral shell growth is usually dextral (right-handed) but on very rare occasions it can be sinistral (left-handed)." Conches of the genus Strombus are referred to as "true conches". The shell is notched so the eye stalks can protrude from the shell. They move by using the operculum, part of the foot. They are invertebrates and gastropods. Queen conches, also known as pink conches, are found in the Caribbean Sea. The body consists of the head, the visceral mass, and the foot.
